CARY, John. Map of England and Wales, with part of Scotland. London: 1818. Folding engraved map (764 x 635mm), to the scale of one inch to 15 miles (1:950,400), hand-coloured in outline, with near contemporary amateur hand-colouring of postal routes, range of postal communications from London and areas of highest commercial activity, together with a manuscript key, dissected and mounted on linen. (Scattered faint spotting and soiling.) Contained in the original marbled-paper covered slipcase with circular printed label (rubbed). Provenance: Darlington Public Library (stamp to verso).
