MANNER OF THE EUAION PAINTER, CIRCA 460-450 B.C.
The tondo with a bearded man to the left seated on a klismos, a woman standing before him, the man wearing a chlamys, high open boots and a wide-brimmed petasos, holding a spear in his left hand and a phiale in his outstretched right, the woman before him, her body frontal, her head turned to the left, wearing a peplos with a striped border, her hair bound in a fillet, a trefoil oinochoe held high in her right hand, pouring into the man's phiale, the liquid in dilute glaze, on a thin reserved groundline, enclosed within a band of stopt meander and crossed squares; one side of the exterior with four youths and a bearded man, the youths each wearing a chlamys, two with petasoi on their heads, two with petasoi hanging behind, each holding a spear, the man seated on a klismos between two youths to the right, a himation around his waist and legs, his right hand raised to his head, holding a T-shaped staff in his left hand; the other side with five youths, each wearing a chlamys, three with petasoi on their heads, two with petasoi hanging behind, all holding spears; a band of stopt meander and crossed squares below, a thin band of ovolo at the rim, with small palmettes and tendrils below each handle flanked by larger palmettes, graffiti under one handle
