A PAIR OF ROMAN GOLD AND GARNET EARRINGS
CIRCA 2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
Each with a large cabochon garnet in circular box setting with a beaded wire border, an ornate openwork rectangular crossbar below of voluted strap, four loops below suspending lengths of loop-in-loop chain, terminating in a glass bead in imitation of pearl (one missing), a hooked earwire on the reverse
