A lady, possibly Caroline-Mathilde (1751-1775), Queen of Denmark, in lace-bordered bright green dress with bows at sleeves and corsage, thin purple ribbon tied around her neck, drop-pearl earrings, lace scarf tied in her upswept powdered and curled hair
signed with initials and dated 'SC 1775' (lower right)
on ivory
oval, 2 15/16 in. (74 mm.) high, silver-gilt frame, the reverse with central lock of plaited hair within blue glass surround
