oval, 1 5/16 in. (33 in.) high, gilt-metal bracelet frame with diamond surround, the reverse engraved 'Sir Edward Dering. (6^t^h Bart) of Surrenden-Dering. Kent. Born Sept. 20^t^h 1732. Died Dec. 8^t^h 1798.'

Sir Edward Dering, 6th Bt. was the son of Sir Edward Dering, 5th Bt. and Mary Henshaw. He married, firstly, Selina Furnese and, secondly, Deborah Winchester. He was MP for New Romney until 1770 when he left to accept the Stewardship of the Chiltern Hundreds. He returned to his seat in 1774 but left Parliament in 1787 to accept the Stewardship of the Manor of East Hendred.
