A young lady, in sprigged white dress with peppermint green sash, red cloak draped over her left shoulder and fastened by a pearl-set armlet on her right arm, upswept dark hair dressed in ringlets
signed with initials and dated 'S 1776' (lower left)
enamel on copper
oval, 2 7/8 in. (73 mm.) high, gilt-metal frame with leaf border, probably by Hatfield & Sons
