PROBABLY GENEVA, CIRCA 1810
rectangular box with canted corners, the cover, sides and base with panels of vertical and horizontal engine-turned reeding chased with trailing foliage, berries and flowerheads and stamped at intervals with pellets, divided by coin-pattern vertical columns, the cover centred with an applied three-colour gold plaque depicting an altar of love with a dog lying in the foreground and doves above, the four corners applied with vari-colour gold temples on a sablé ground, the frosted two-colour gold borders chased with husks and flowerheads
