A number of spoons by this maker, initially described as 'maker's mark BN monogram' and later attributed by Jackson to Nicholas Bartlemew [sic] (see I. Pickford, ed., Jackson's Silver and Gold Marks of England, Scotland and Ireland, Woodbridge, 1989, p. 92). They include another Lion Sejant of 1546 (Christie's, London, 16 July 1913, lot 95); another of 1548 (Christie's, London, 9 April 1918, lot 277) and an Apostle spoon of 1547 (Bonham's, London, 23 November 2011, lot 54).
