From magnum, the 88 Musigny from Mugnier showed an amazingly complex nose that was very youthful and still showing lots of primary cherry and plum fruit, but colored with notes of licorice, cinnamon, pepper, smoke and leather. On the palate the wine was rich and soft V very decadent, but with a firm underpinning of structure that showed potential for long aging. CC, at the Hostellerie de Levernois in Beaune, January 2010
