"The 99 Leroy Clos de Vougeot was the Burgundy of the night, albeit far from ready to drink. The nose shows a youthful very ripe black cherry and cassis fruit character and hints of licorice, five spice powder and ginger on the nose along with a rich, dense texture on the palate, plenty of tannins and an impressive amount of extract. Somewhat hard at present, this has the substance to age into a truly spectacular wine." At Mark Taylors in Atlanta, CC, March 2012
