Descriptif du lot

This painting is sold with a copy of a certificate from Dr. Margret Klinge (dated December 1999) confirming the attribution and dating the painting to the 1620s. The piercing shafts of heavenly light recall the effect in Teniers' Landscape with the Judgment of Paris (Sweden, private collection; see E. Duverger and H. Vlieghe, David Teniers der Ältere, Utrecht, 1971, p. 45, pl. 33).
