A CARVED RHINOCEROS HORN FLORAL-FORM LIBATION CUP
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
The cup with flaring sides is carved in the form of a large magnolia flower with six overlapping petals. The exterior is detailed with serrated leaves borne on gnarling branches extending upwards to form the handle issuing buds. The material is of a rich honey colour.
5 1/2 in. (14 cm.) wide

Acquired in China, 1931, and thence by descent within the family to the present owner
