YONGZHENG YUZHI MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-SQUARES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)
The bowl is thinly potted with rounded sides rising to a flared rim, richly decorated on the exterior with a variety of exotic flowers including peonies, hibiscus, poppies, lilies and daisies rising from the plain coral foot rim, all reserved on a rich coral-red ground. The interior is covered in a transparent glaze.
5 1/8 in. (13 cm.) diam.

Compare to a bowl of this form and decoration with a similar yuzhi mark, illustrated by Hugh Moss, By Imperial Command, col. pl. 57; another bowl in the collection of the Shanghai Museum, is illustrated in Chugoku Toji Zenshu, vol. 21, pl. 76. Two more bowls, in the collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei, are illustrated in the Catalogue, Fine Enamelled Porcelain of the Ch'ing Dynasty, Yung Cheng Period, Book II, pls. 34 and 35. Another such bowl was sold at Christie's New York, 1 June 90, lot 319.
