WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN A CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
The shallow rounded sides are painted with four quatrefoil panels each depicting a seated scholar in a garden setting, interspersed with floral sprigs. The interior is painted with a medallion of leafy floral spray, surrounded by four clusters of grapes around the sides.
