Lot Essay

Small bowls of such pattern on a yellow ground appear to be very rare. A blue and white example with similar decoration was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 20 November 1984, lot 331. Another larger example (16 cm.) with wucai decoration is illustrated by J. Ayers, The Baur Collection Catalogue, vol. II, Geneva, 1969, pl. 196.
