A ROBIN'S-EGG GLAZED HU VASE
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The vase is supported on a slightly splayed foot, the bulbous pear-shaped body rising to a waisted neck, with two raised bands beneath the neck, flanked on either side by a pair of elephant-head ring handles. It is covered with a finely mottled opaque glaze of turquoise and lavender hue that continues over the mouth rim and base.
