The ring is finely carved with an imperial poem followed by stylised morning glory, all bordered between keyfret designs. The semi-translucent stone is of a white tone with brownish suffusions.

Lot Essay

The poem inscribed was composed by Emperor Qianlong in tribute to morning glory, and is recorded in Yuzhi Shiji, Compilation of Imperial Poems, vol. 3, juan 57, dated 1766.
