Lot Essay

Collector Huang Zhaolin was born in Hunan province. He passed the imperial examination and obtained a Jinshi degree in 1840, the gengzi year of the Daoguang era (1820-1850). The most senior governmental post held by Huang was Deputy Secretary of the Guang Lu Si (responsible for managing food offerings for rites).
