The vase of slender ovoid form and decorated in gilt with butterflies, the rectilinear chanelled handles issuing from masks, the fluted and milled neck mount and plain foot on a square mottled griotte marble plinth, the neck with restored section to the upper lip
10 5/8 in. (27 cm.) high; 6½ in. (16.5 cm.) wide; 5½ in. (14 cm.) deep

The vase almost certainly supplied by Robert Fogg and mounted by Vulliamy & Son, London circa 1811, for Edward Lascelles, 1st Earl of Harewood (1740-1820) or for his eldest son Edward 'Beau' Lascelles (1764-1814) and by descent at Harewood House, Yorkshire.
