MARK OF THOMAS WHIPHAM AND CHARLES WRIGHT, LONDON, 1768
Baluster shaped and on slightly domed and gadrooned foot, with leaf-capped scroll handles, engraved with scrolling foliage band on matted ground and with a coat-of-arms below a baron's coronet within a drapery cartouche, the domed cover engraved with a crest below a baron's coronet and with fluted finial, marked under foot and on cover bezel, the foot further numbered and engraved with a scratchweight 'No 3 55=10'
13 3/8 in. (34 cm.) high
54 oz. 13 dwt. (1,700 gr.)
The arms are those of Lascelles impaling Colman for Edwin Lascelles, 1st and last Baron of Harwood (1719-1795) and his second wife Jane (d.1813), daughter of William Colman, of Garnbay, Devon and widow of Sir John Fleming, 1st and last Bt., whom he married in 1770.
