MARK OF HENRY HODSON PLANTE, LONDON, 1935
In the George III style, each oval and on four leaf-capped ball-feet, with pierced wave pattern rim, the sides with pierced slats and applied husks, engraved underneath with the date '9th September 1935' and two cyphers, one below an earl's coronet, the other below a Royal Princess' coronet, each with copper liner, each marked underneath, further stamped 'H. H. Plante 12 Bury St. St. James's SW'
12 in. (30.4 cm.) wide
weight of silver 117 oz. 16 dwt. (3,664 gr.)
The cyphers are those of Henry Lascelles, 6th Earl of Harewood (1882-1947) and his wife The Princess Mary, Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood (1897-1965), the third child and only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, whom he married on 28 February 1922. (4)
