Lot Essay

The Grand Duke is sent out by the King to find the maiden whose foot fits the glass slipper, all that is left of Prince Charming's true love. When the Grand Duke arrives at Lady Tremaine's house she realises that Cinderella is the girl the Prince is searching for. She follows Cinderella up to her tower bedroom and locks her in. The mice Gus and Jaq manage to steal back the door key to Cinderella's room, setting her free. Just as the Duke is about to leave, Cinderella appears. Lady Tremaine smashes the glass slipper but her efforts are thwarted when Cinderella produces the other slipper.
