The first Beatles A side to be written by George Harrison, Something was released in the U.S. on 6th October, 1969 and received its R.I.A.A. gold certification three weeks later on 27th October, 1969.
On its release, Frank Sinatra is quoted as saying he thought Something was "the greatest love song of the past fifty years."
