"The 1961 began with very ripe, mature, red and black berry fruit, spice, and tobacco. This is an aromatically profound wine, with a hint of almost lemon peel, wax and almond. On the palate the wine is in beautiful condition, with great balance and a silken texture leading up to a lingering finish." At a retrospective tasting in Houston hosted by Keith Williams. CC.
