Probably Charles John Canning, 1st Earl Canning (1812-1862) and by descent to Hubert George de Burgh-Canning, 2nd Marquess of Clanricarde (1832-1916), by whom bequeathed to his great-nephew, Henry Lascelles, 6th Earl of Harewood (1882-1947), and by descent at Harewood House, Yorkshire.

Lot Essay

George Canning (1770-1827) was a friend and steadfast supporter of William Pitt (1759-1808) even naming his second son after the Prime Minister who preceded him in office.
