MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY)
On four feet, decorated in gold, red and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and togidashi-e and inlaid in mother-of-pearl on a polished gold lacquer ground with an eagle in a wisteria branch beside a waterfall, further birds and lotus, hinged door opening to reveal two drawers decorated with scattered leaves, silver fittings
