Variously inscised with the arms or crest of Canning, Canning with Scott in prestense and de Burgh and one in the form of a fox curled around a bloodstone matrix with intaglio fox mask; together with two gold-mounted matrices lacking handles, with intaglio coat-of-arms for Canning (8)
Provenance
Charles John Canning, 1st Earl Canning (1812-1862) and by descent to
Hubert George de Burgh-Canning, 2nd Marquess of Clanricarde (1832-
1916), by whom bequeathed to his great-nephew,
Henry Lascelles, 6th Earl of Harewood (1882-1947), and by descent at
Harewood House, Yorkshire.
