A BRITISH PATTERN 1845 OFFICER'S SWORD

With regulation slightly curved fullered single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and etched on each side with scrollwork and a 'VR' cypher, brass 'Gothic' hilt retaining nearly all its original gilt finish with folding-flap and pierced with a further 'VR' cypher, original wire-bound black-rayskin-covered grip, and original black-leather-liner, gold bullion sword-knot, and original black leather scabbard with gilt-brass mounts (small scattered patches of surface corrosion to blade, some rubbing to gilt finish to hilt, sword-knot worn)
