Lot Essay

Bernard Day (1884-1934) was a member of Robert Falcon Scott's Terra Nova expedition to Antarctica in 1910-1913. He served as the team's motor mechanic with responsibilty for the motor sledges that Scott hoped would give him an advantage in the race to the Pole.
