First Froben edition of this important medical treatise written in 1468 and first published in Venice in 1471. In this work the author Marzio describes the human organs scientifically and etymologically, providing a valuable resource for the cure of various diseases. The treatise is divided into two sections: one for the external organs of the body, the second the internal. For each body part, the author cites a classical text. The third section is a review of George Merula. Galeotto Marzio was the first librarian of King Matthias Corvinus.

The title-page border (Hollstein 14), designed by Hans Holbein the younger, is in the form of an epitaph with putti and tritons; candelabra-ornaments at left and right. It was used again in an edition of Erasmus's Querela Pacis published by Froben later the same year. The printer's device at end designed by Ambrosius Holbein (Hollstein 4) is also used here for the first time, and reappears in the Erasmus work above, as well as others. Some initials were also designed by Hans Holbein (Hollstein 115). Adams M-749; Wellcome I, 4095.
