FIRST EDITION of Fitzgerald's second novel. Believed to be based on his relationship with Zelda, the novel provides a portrait of the Eastern elite during the Jazz Age. It was serialized before book publication in Metropolitan Magazine (September 1921-March 1922), and contained a two-paragraph conclusion Fitzgerald ultimately omitted when he revised it for book publication.
