Perseus, after the statue by Antonio Canova in the Vatican Museums

Giovanni Tognoli executed a number of drawings after statues by Canova, which were then engraved by Pietro Fontana; both artists had been selected by Canova himself to help publicise his sculpture through the distribution of prints.
