Barrel-shaped with an everted rim, moulded with bands of nodules enriched in gilding, below a thread with blue and white rope-twist and a band of beads and flowerheads in white, blue and red enamels enriched in gilt, the lower part with white and red beads above a milled foot, with a kick-in base

Ths form of early prunted beaker is often associated with green glass examples known as 'krautstrunk' (see lots 120 and 122 in this sale). The enamel decoration suggest a Venetian attribution, perhaps intended for the German market.
