With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1980 and it's subsequent sale on August 29th of the following year.

The Ellipse reference 3798 was produced from the mid-1970's until the early 1980's in either yellow or white gold. They have blue, gold, or brown gold dials, or a two-tone guilloché brown gold dial, such as the present watch.
