Haas & Cie was founded by Leopold and Benjamin Haas in 1848 and renamed Haas Neveux & Cie in 1884. They are known for launching in that same year a highly innovated pocket watch with a movement that wound by opening and closing the cover. This mechanism was later patented and presented at the 1893 Chicago World Exhibition.
