Lot Essay

cf. G. Jalk, ed., Dansk Mobelkunst gennem 40 aar, 1927-1936, Copenhagen, 1987, pp. 122-125. In 1933, Kaare Klint designed 'Additions', a set of modular seating comprised of sofas and ottomans of different lengths that may be used in various configurations. The present sofa is most likely a custom made variation of the 'Additions' seating which features a wider seat-apron and a back which joins the seat at a slight angle not seen on the other versions, thus providing an overall more substantial and elegant design.
