The Bibliothéque Britannique, a scientific and literary periodical first published in Geneva in 1796, included scientific and literary works. In 1816, the journal was renamed Bibliothéque Universelle to reflect its new aim of including pan-European publications. The scientific section of the journal is still published today under the name d'Archives des Sciences Phiysiques et Naturelles. (43)
