The rectangular copper box with angled corners decorated with finely cut mother-of-pearl inlaid into a black lacquer ground with a peacock and peahen beneath flowering branches, black lacquer interior; the rectangular box carved in high and low relief and decorated overall in red lacquer with two panels inlaid in mother-of-pearl and ivory with floral displays on a fundame ground
