"Y" de Yquem--Vintage 2009
Bordeaux. The dry white wine produced at Château d'Yquem
Tasting note: Pale, very brilliant yellow colour. Intense bouquet of vanilla and citrus with fresh overtones of resin and herbes de Provence upon aeration. Also very attractive and intense floral aromas accompanied by delicious balsamic nuances. Starts out very round and soft on the palate, but balanced by good acidity for a fine overall equilibrium. Fruity flavours (grapefruit) followed by green hints that provide excellent freshness.
This vintage of "Y" is the perfect illustration of what this wine should be: round, concentrated, and extremely elegant on the palate.
