These pairs of wall-lights relate to an engraving by G. Huquier after a design by Gilles-Marie Oppenort (d. 1742) which was published in 1748 (G.-M. Oppenort, Livre de Diffrentes Dcorations d'Apartements..., plate CVIII).
A pair of wall-lights based on the same design and believed to be probably 19th century is at Waddesdon Manor (G. de Bellaigue, The James A. De Rothschild Collection at Waddesdon Manor, Furniture, Clocks and Gilt Bronzes, London, 1974, vol. II, cat. 216, pp. 790-791). A similar pair was sold Christie's New York, 18 October 2002, lot 1134.
