Lot Essay

A five-piece garniture of almost identical vases is illustrated by Christiaan J. A. Jörg, Chinese Ceramics in the Collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam., London, 1997, p.179, no.200, where the author states that the decoration is derived from Japanese Imari ceramics, from which elements have been used and adapted to the Chinese taste.
