Kamakura period (13th-14th century)
Carved in cypress wood and painted with polychrome pigments and gold, modeled as Jikokuten standing with the left leg forward, the hair carved as a gathered knot, dressed in Chinese-style robes and armor, applied with metal fittings

40in. (101.6cm.) high without stand; 46in. (116.8cm.) high with stand
