A Blue and White Porcelain Square Water Dropper
Joseon dynasty (late 19th century)
Set on four short bracket feet and moulded with a cylindrical side spout, painted on the flat top in dark and medium strokes of underglaze blue with a chrysanthemum flower centered by four slender leaves and four groups of stylized waves, the sides of the water dropper painted with the Chinese characters for "life," "water," "one," "heaven" and with a narrow blue line around the perimeter of the foot, the vessel also applied with a blue-tinged clear glaze; pierced with an air hole at top
