TWO PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLES
1770-1870
The first, 1770-1810, is of ovoid form and is molded with a writhing dragon grasping a sinuous branch of lingzhi in its mouth and hind paw. The design is picked out in blue enamel. The second, 1820-1870, is of tall cylindrical form and painted in underglaze copper red with a tranquil scene of a lone fisherman on a rocky riverbank with a small hut in the distance. Together with three miniature porcelain snuff bottles, 1750-1860, comprising an ovoid bottle covered in a green glaze, an aubergine-glazed fruit-form bottle, and an underglaze-blue leaf-form bottle.
