A FINELY CARVED AMBER SNUFF BOTTLE
1740-1850
The well-hollowed bottle is of rounded, rectangular form and finely carved on one side with Su Wu resting below a pine tree while tending to three goats (sanyang), and on the reverse with Meng Haoran seated on a donkey and accompanied by his young attendant. Both scenes are set within a continuous landscape. The amber bottle is of dark reddish-honey color.
