A GREENISH-GREY JADE COVERED VASE AND FIGURE GROUP
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The vase, of flatttened oblong section, is carved on each side with an archaistic blade-form design pendent from the shoulder and below the neck which is flanked by a pair of bi-form handles. To one side stands a phoenix grasping a stem of millet in its beak, and to the other side is a female immortal holding a ruyi scepter beside an attendant holding a vase of lingzhi. All are supported by clouds that form the base. The semi-translucent stone is well polished.
