A CLOISONNE ENAMEL FIVE-PIECE GARNITURE, WUGONG
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The garniture is comprised of a censer and cover which is raised on four legs issuing from monster masks; a pair of candlesticks with bell-form bases; and a pair of gu-form vases: all five pieces are quadrilobed shape and decorated with panels of lotus sprays within angular blue scroll borders. The censer has a pair of outward-curved upright handles, and the cover has four ruyi panels reserved on an openwork gilt-copper ground below a tall gilt-copper finial cast in openwork with bats in flight amidst clouds below a four-armed ruyi motif centered by a flower head.
