A gilt bronze figure of Amitayus
Tibet, circa 16th century
Seated in dhyanasana and holding a vase containing the Elixir of Long Life in his lap, dressed in a robe with the folds piled below the ankles and adorned with a jeweled necklace, the face with heavy-lidded eyes and finely arched brows, the hair in a chignon secured with a foliate diadem and escaping in locks over the shoulders, the base sealed with a double-vajra
