Eighth edition of Salvá and Palau, second Antwerp edition, of this major anthology. First printed in Valencia, 1511, it reached its fullest extent in the two last editions, the seventh, first Antwerp, edition of 1557 and the present eighth edition, containing 1157 compositions. Most of the well-known writers of the age are represented in satirical, moral, didactic, and devotional works, poems of love and gallantry, and accounts of jousts and tournaments. Both editions have some content not common to the other. Salvá considered them to be 'igualmente buscadas y tienen el mismo valor por ser ambas de estraordinaria rareza'. Brunet I, 1534; Maggs cat. 495, no. 133; Peeters-Fontainas 176; Salvá I, 180; Palau III, 41974.
