MOLINET, Jean (1435-1507). Les faictz et dictz. Paris: Jehan Petit, 1537. 8° (161 x 100mm). Black letter. Title printed in red and black, woodcut initials. (Title repaired with small area of manuscript facsimile, other edge mends, light soiling, occasional mainly marginal light staining and spotting.) 16th-century blind-panelled calf, the sides with portrait medallions of Mars and Venus (rebacked, corners repaired). Provenance: 'L'abbé Manuel' (ink signature) -- Hector de Backer (sale I, Giraud-Badin, Paris, 17-20 February 1926, lot 167, where purchased).
